Legion of Sorts!

To everyone who has been visiting this blog over the past five years, THANK YOU. Since I've been in China for the past year and a half, Blogger has been blocked and it makes it more and more difficult for me to update. I finally took the time to move over to Wordpress which is still available in China and so I've created a new blog with the same contributors plus many new ones. It will focus a bit on our daily skateboarding adventures in Shanghai but also include more about our many friends around the world; Brian in Canada, Danny in New Zealand, Tyler and the Haines St. Crew in Delaware and much more!

Venice of the East: SUZHOU

Since the deadline for the Gift Skateboards video is coming up soon, we took a trip to Suzhou for the weekend to get some stuff done. Suzhou used to be a river/canal city, and you could get around by getting water taxis, people just paddling canoes around town. The city's huge now, but still slightly more traditional than Shanghai and Shenzhen are. The skatespots in Suzhou are too many, mostly never been skated before.

We filmed this video back in 2005-2006 and I never finished editing it, thus the no titles. I think we were trying to film for a new Switch video which never happened and I just wanted to get the footage out there so I just put all the footage together to one song but never put it out. It's got footage from Ed the Shredder, Brian Peacock, Kyle Schroeder, Chipper, Bubba and others. I'm pretty psyched on it, I wish I used a different song though. There's a bunch of footage that no one's probably ever seen... like Bubba's crook?? That shit's like 6 years old at least.

This time last year I was in Miami

I just realized that 2008 went by REALLY fucking quickly. As soon as I graduated from school, I was thinking about what to do, last minute - ended up in Shanghai, and now it's already 2009... what the fuck!

Mike Mo in China

It's funny how Mike Mo came to China for that Lakai Fully Flared video part and now there are spots that people are like: "Oh, let's go to that Mike Mo double set (the one he switch tre'd), and the Mike Mo 9 stair (bigfliped or switch bigfliped).

But yeah, we skated that shit today, footage will be up later.


This spot is in the newer area of Shanghai. You actually have to pay 10RMB to get into the park to even skate the spot. So you better get a fucking trick.


Look familiar? The Element team was recently here... look out for Chad Tim Tim's footage at this spot. What trick? I'll give you a hint.... Joel broke his board trying this trick at 3BLOCK in Philly this past summer.
