THROWBACK TUESDAY

We filmed this video back in 2005-2006 and I never finished editing it, thus the no titles. I think we were trying to film for a new Switch video which never happened and I just wanted to get the footage out there so I just put all the footage together to one song but never put it out. It's got footage from Ed the Shredder, Brian Peacock, Kyle Schroeder, Chipper, Bubba and others. I'm pretty psyched on it, I wish I used a different song though. There's a bunch of footage that no one's probably ever seen... like Bubba's crook?? That shit's like 6 years old at least.

NANO VISION!

Since I left my firewire cable in China, I can only edit video captured off my iPod Nano for now. But it's dopppppeeeee. Here's a nonsense clip featuring frontside flips from Joel and Brian and a Nedd trizzle flip. The quality is pretty weak b/c I had to compress it.

Brian Peacock for President

"From coast to coast, amateur skaters have been putting their two wheels to the test, competing in the Red Bull Manny Mania Am series all summer long across 15 cities. Now the best skater from each stop will compete in the digital Manny Rumble Royale, vying for your vote as the grand prize winner, with the chance to take home $7,000 in prizes and take their shooting, and their recognition, to the next level.

At the end of September, the skater with the most popular manual maneuvers will be sporting a prize back with the best of digital video equipment - winning a JVC HD Everio GZ - HD40 camera, a Macbook Pro 15”widescreen computer and programs to edit their future footage with including Final Cut Studio and Mac OS X Lepoard - and last but not least, a handy pelican case to carry their gear to all the hot skate spots around town." -SkateDaily

Brian Peacock is Spreading His Wings

Is the title too gay?

Congrats to Brian Peacock for winning the ES Game of Skate that went down yesterday at the Frawley Stadium yesterday. Good luck in California! After winning the RedBull Manny Mania in Baltimore and then taking the win here, maybe somebody will give him a real sponsor finally. Enjoi? Dwindle? Ralphie, where you at??

Whabos Video Archive

I've added a column on the right so I can start reposting all the old WHABOS videos I've made. If you watch them, you'll notice changes from the quality of the videos, the different skaters, filmers, etc. It's really crazy to think that this site was first started back in 1999/2000 hosted under Angelfire. A really big shout out has to go to Mike Grant and Aaron Zimkouski, as they were the first to get this shit off it's feet in Hockessin to what it is now... which I hope is a website/blog dedicated to showcasing skateboarding throughout Northern Delaware and the surrounding areas.... which now includes me in China as well as Daniel in New Zealand.

The first video I reposted was the 99 Cent Special promo. This was a video project I had in mind the first year in college... 2004, trying to put out parts with Adam Benson, Greg Coker, Jesse Bradley, Chipper DelSteezy, Mike Grant, and myself. The name of the title came because I remember before than I had been skating at Lantana Square a shitload, and there were always all these 99 Cent Special bread stickers all over the place. Anyway, at that time, it was really difficult to get a lot, if any, footage of these people. I also think I was filming with a Digital8 at the time, haha. So a lot of the filming was done by Tom Harmon. Tom got a job touring with bands and that's when I got a hold of Dreadlock Joey's camera and starting putting together as much footage as possible. So the promo came out in 2004/2005... I remember it was cold as fuck at that time and was chillin w/ Benson a lot. The video was barely started and never finished. After that, I started skating a lot with Brian Peacock and Ed the Shredder and got enough to put out a 5 minute untitled video towards the end of 2006 or maybe it was 2007. I never got around to burning a bunch of it and showing people besides on my computer, but I know there's a copy somewhere at Switch... b/c I don't even know if I have a copy myself anymore. If I can, I'll find it and see if I can upload it on here.

So here's the promo: 99 Cent Special

Christmas at Bam's

Brian Peacock sent me this clip to check out. Looks like him and Ian (So Trill) have been going to Bam's park on the regular. Also footy from Andrew Cannon, that dude Angel from Borderline, Tom Asta and Bam. Filmed by Matt Steindl.
